How to Choose Military Boots
Careful selection of an appropriate military boots is essential for wear, comfort and performance, whether you anticipate braving arctic winds, jungle humidity or desert sand, or you just wear for fashion. Here I will give you some advices.
One: Select the proper size and try it on for comfort.
Two: Decide if you want to buy online, by catalog, or in person in a store such as an army-navy surplus store or PX. Online or catalog shopping offers a variety of choices. However, you may be faced with shipping costs and delays. Nothing can replace the value of trying on a boot before purchase.
Three: The type of terrain you will be encountering is a critically important consideration in selecting a military boot. There are boots specifically designed for desert, jungle, cold weather, wet weather, forced entry and paratrooping wear.
Four: For comfort and ease of use, determine whether the collar is padded, the boot is lightweight and there will be shock absorption, reinforced ankle supports, instep vents, moisture wicking or fast drying material. You may prefer a side zipper or reinforced eyelets for fast lacing.
Five: For the infantry, look for a leather upper or a tan suede for desert use,or even an oil resistant model. "Spit shine" dress or officer boots are also available.
Finally, size (full or half size), model availability and overall cost are some "non-negotiable" criteria you need to consider in selecting your military boot.
